Sound Healing Instruments for sale
Basically any instrument can be used intentionally in sound healing. I personally prefer instruments that are highly resonant and simple to play, so that they keep me in a state of meditation as I play them.
I work and collaborate with We Play Well Together – a wonderful small business founded by Gabriele Schwibach. She is the the official distributor of Hokema and feeltone instruments in the US and has had personal relationship with the makers for decades. What I like most about their instruments is that they are easy to play and – according to the name – they play together! The instruments are grouped based on elements (from Koshi chimes) and tunings. feeltone Monochord
Monochord is one of the most soothing instrument I know. It has a soft tone and when you play for awhile it sounds like someone is singing. In that regards, it’s great accompaniment for singing. I play it often in clinical settings (cancer, mental health and substance abuse). Even people that are sensitive to sounds are able to sooth their nervous system with its’ beautiful resonance.
Elements
Incorporating elements to sound healing sessions is lots of fun. I personally pay attention which is the most noticeable element the person/people have as they enter the room. People with prominent water element tend to be more emotional. Earth brings in boundaries and order. Air shows up with quick thinking or talking multiple topics in same sentence. Fire might show up as anger. Harmonizing the most prominent element and bringing up other elements may become the theme of the session.
Koshi originally created their chimes based on elements. We Play Well Together has worked closely with instrument manufacturers such as Hokema, feeltone and Metalsounds to add more instruments to the mix. They recently also color coordinated them so that they are easy to notice when playing.
